Continuing the blunted, narco-jazz swing of KRM's previous 'Nightcrawler' album, 'Downtown' is an even slower, more eerie ride into dread city noir soundscapes and cinematic scale hallucinations.

From the opening drone jazz of 'Berlin Walls', which sounds like Mwandishi era rhythmic gyrations, mixed by Thomas Köner, directly leading to the ominous grind. and low end dirge of 'Stonebridge Park Estate', Martin is again bossing his own paranoid musical terrain, as he soundtracks a concrete jungle's distant noise, buried rhythms and infinite pulsations.

A tense narrative, of his own relentless making, Kevin again obsessively crafts sonic detail, infers doomed narratives, and dubs out the metropolis unforgettably....Anyone fiending for an imaginary meeting between Cecil McBee, Mad Professor and Bernard Herrmann, will surely lap up this journey into a beautiful unknown.
